Amy - having an only child makes it easier as far as he doesn't have a sibling to share with, but on the other hand we worried when he was younger that this could be a problem when he played with others.  Luckily, our son doesn't mind sharing... in fact, he gives his toys to others to play with.  

But I have a strong suspicion that if he had a sibling - sharing would be an issue.

Amy, use a timer!  Or have your hubby use the timer.  Honestly.  Be in the room with the toy.  When Markus says,"Raphael is not letting me have my turn" let Raphael know he has it for one minute.  Or two minutes or 5 minutes although that is too long for a 3 year old to understand.  And then give it to Markus for the same amount of time.  If you see this continue a lot, you can tell them if they will fight over it you will take it away until  whatever the next meal is.  This really helps kids even 3 year olds understand consequences.  
In the meantime, talk to Markus about the traffic light how it makes us take turns to drive so everyone is safe.  Talking about it in the car while stopped at a light is the best time.  Even 3 year olds understand a car can hurt if you get hit by it.  Taking turns keeps everyone happy and safe, it helped to explain it to Alex that way at that age.  
I have also gotten to the stage where they both get in trouble if I am not in the room when it happens.  One for doing the deed and the other for tattling.....but you are not there with your boys yet, they are little.  
Yes, I have an extreme parenting style, but when you have special needs kids, sometimes you must be very consistent and occasionally tough.  My kids know the rules and know what to expect even at 2 years old.
