I know he isn't technically a baby( although he will always be my baby), but he has started first grade.  Official "big boy" school.  And I'm not handling it so well.  It an hour and forty-five minutes longer, homework and desks - it's not Kindergarten anymore!

I realize my situation is unique in many ways.  Most moms are glad when school starts back.  And I definitely can understand why... especially if you have more than one child, you work out of the home or are alone with the kids most days.  However, I only have one child.  So there is no siblings to fight or bicker with.  And we have been fortunate that my husband has been a work at home dad for two years now - so my son spends a lot of time with daddy and dad takes him out for mom to have "me" time.

So it's times like this that make me wish I home schooled.  However, I do know it wouldn't be the best situation for my son.  I do have a ray of hope, though.  I know that in a week or so we will be happy with the school situation.  We will settle into our routine and all will be fine.

Are there any other moms out there they feel this way?
