Yesterday, six-year old Falcon Heene was believed to had been carried off in his families home-made helium weather balloon in Northern Colarado.  When I heard about it on the news, my first thought was of panic - for a child and parents I didn't even know.  I hoped beyond hope that the little boy was safe... along with everyone else that was hearing this story unfold.

Then I heard the good news... Falcon was home safe and had not been in the balloon in the first place.  Relief.  But then I discovered that this wasn't the first time I'd heard about this family.  Earlier yesterday I read a story and saw a video of a family that tracked storms and took their young children with them.  My first thought was that these parents were being careless.  I mean, if you want to be a storm chaser that's fine, but it might not be the safest thing to do with young kids.  Well, guess what?  It's the same family.

Furthermore, this family also appeared on Wife Swap.  So now I'm wondering if they are searching for media attention.  They simply want the publicity.  The father developed this weather balloon and wanted to draw attention to its launch.

I don't know, if it was real or not.  I'd like to think that it was all an unfortunate misunderstanding.  The one thing I'm sure about though, is that little Falcon Heene is safe and sound.

So do you think it was real or do you think it was a hoax?
