No spoiler alerts here!  We took our son (who's six) to see Where The Wild Things Are this past Friday and I (with a little help from Cody) wanted to give it a little review.  More an advisory, I guess.  I just wanted to let parents know that the movie - although beautiful - is intense, dark and deals with some serious topics.

As I said my son is six but he a bit more mature for his age and loves slightly scary movies and books.  His favorite books to read are Goosebumps... so we based that on the decision to take him to see Where The Wild Things Are.  One spot in the movie gets very intense and he said "this part is scary".

I personally, love it!  But Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak is a favorite childhood book of mine.  And seeing it brought to life on a big screen was pretty awesome.

Every child is different and only you know what's best for your child... but I would suggest not taking a child younger than 8-years old.  Check out the video to see more of what we thought of Wild Things.
