You have a sick child.  You've taken him or her to the doctor and it is confirmed... you have a sick child.  Then one morning while your sick child is home sick from school, you wake up chilling and every bone and joint in your body aches.  You have a fever!  This is the scenario that played out in our home this week.

My son has been really sick with a bilateral sinus infection (which I believe was a secondary infection).  He had such a bad cough that he literally coughed non-stop with every single breath he took from Thursday a week ago through this past Monday night... and the only reason he didn't cough non-stop Monday night was because the doctor prescribed a cough medicine with codeine it. Along with antibiotics and a steriod he is taking, he is now on the mend.

However, Wednesday morning, I woke up with a fever, chills and aching like I've never ached before.  Fortunately, my husband is a work from home dad.  So he was here to take care of both Cody and myself.  Had he not been able to, I'm not sure how we would have made out.

So this got me to thinking - what do you do if you work out of the home and your kids are suddenly sick or if you, yourself are sick?  What if you don't have family nearby?  Or if your regular babysitter is a teenager or college student... they'd be in school themselves, and couldn't help out.

We would love to hear how you deal with this situation.  Looking forward to your responses!
