A perennial problem for parents is getting enough sleep.
When you're a night owl and your children are, well, early risers, how do you manage to cope?

Amy - I don't. Seriously, I really never feel like I get enough sleep. And I'm not a morning person! I'm trying to go to bed earlier this week in prep for back to school next week and I've been getting even less sleep. I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep for more than two hours. By the time I get back to sleep it's about time to get up. Ugh!

I'm just glad it's not only me. Is that bad?

That's because misery loves company!

Well ladies, I never get to sleep all night either. I am the water delivery person.

Stacie - My lack of sleep usually has nothing to do with my son (he sleeps really well and 98% of the time never wakes up even once during the night). I am a night person and have a hard time going to bed early. And if I do, I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep very easily.

Stacie - The kids do generally sleep through the night. Like Donna, I am just a night owl and it's a matter of when the kids wake up in the morning. Unfortunately, it's usually too early.

OK, Amy. You can easily do what I did with Michael...or try. I brought him in to bed with me and said,"sleep!" And he does. Or, you let the TV babysit them for an hour if your kids are at the age for it. Mine usually watched TV when on my bed with me sleeping so I knew what they are watching and where they are, and what time it was from the show they were watching. Now that they are older, they can open a yogurt and do for themselves. I am trying to get to bed earlier, but 10pm is the absolute earliest. I try to wake up @6 so I have a chance to shower before the kids have to leave. And yes, you will have them both in school one day and they will sleep better at night or go to sleep earlier so you have time for you as well. And you can nap! Hope this helped.
